Five Loaves- Weekly Scripture Reflection

Between Sundays™ is a scripture reflection for the week (anticipatory of the upcoming Sunday).
Each Monday there will be a new video to view on our Home Page, (previous weeks can be found under the "Playlist" tab). Please come back often to explore the Sunday Scriptures.

23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time – Harden Not Your Hearts

Jesus instructs his disciples saying, “Whatever you bind or loose on earth will be bound or loosed in heaven.” It is human nature to get angry, especially when we feel wronged or slighted. Unfortunately, we often “hold on” to those grudges and resentments far too long – even at the expense of our own health – instead of following Jesus’ example of mercy and forgiveness. Jesse Manibusan’s setting of Psalm 95 reminds us of the commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves:
If today your hear God’s voice, harden not your hearts.

About The Five Loaves:  Just like the scripture story, we believe miracles happen when people are willing to offer their simple gifts for the good of others.
Please share this free weekly video reflection. Feel free to post, tweet, or forward a link to those who need to hear the Good News!

Website Sponsorships Available!

  • Please consider participating in this effort since the revenue from the ads is what makes the website possible at no cost to the parish.
  • It’s a great way to get your name in front of the families in the parish.  Advertisements may be purchased for a business, family memorial, or you can sponsor an ad supporting Catholic Charities, Knights of Columbus, Vocations, etc.
  • Please give these ideas some thought. We need and appreciate your help!  If you are interested or just curious as to prices and want more information, please contact 913.667.2087 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
