Five Loaves- Weekly Scripture Reflection

Between Sundays™ is a scripture reflection for the week (anticipatory of the upcoming Sunday).
Each Monday there will be a new video to view on our Home Page, (previous weeks can be found under the "Playlist" tab). Please come back often to explore the Sunday Scriptures.

Francis and the Wolf
Legend has it that Francis of Assisi tamed a wolf threatening the nearby town where Francis stayed after his decision to follow Christ in radical poverty. We had a chance to visit Gubbio during our recent pilgrimage to Italy and discovered more about Francis’ spirituality. Our friend and tour guide, Mark Whittier, reflects on how this well-known story applies to our own lives. May we be inspired to imitate Francis’ humility as we strive to follow Christ.

Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom.- Matthew 11:25

About The Five Loaves:  Just like the scripture story, we believe miracles happen when people are willing to offer their simple gifts for the good of others.
Please share this free weekly video reflection. Feel free to post, tweet, or forward a link to those who need to hear the Good News!

Discovering the New Testament: The Gospels

Monday, October 6--November 10

Explore these questions and more as we undertake a survey of the New Testament.

Replace Our Roof brochure
Replace Our Roof pledge card

After much deliberation, our Facilities Council recommends that our 60,000 square foot flat roof be replaced sometime in the next year. The council determined that patching once again will increase the likelihood of leaks, not eliminate them.

The tournament chairs would like to thank the participants, sponsors, and volunteers for contributing to the success of Good Shepherd's 2014 Golf Tournament. Tournament Sponsors included:

Fred & Paula Neuer

Saints Patio & Pub - Scott & Kem Anderson

Mark & Bridget Pereira

Uvanta - Mark & Rita Hyde, Kevin & Amy Kentfield

KU Orthopedics & Sports Medicine -  Kelly & Celeste Hendricks

Website Sponsorships Available!

  • In the weeks ahead, our parish representative from Solutio, Inc., will be setting up the advertising for our website for the year.
  • Please consider participating in this effort since the revenue from the ads is what makes the website possible at no cost to the parish.
  • It’s a great way to get your name in front of the families in the parish.  Advertisements may be purchased for a business, family memorial, or you can sponsor an ad supporting Catholic Charities, Knights of Columbus, Vocations, etc.
  • Please give these ideas some thought. We need and appreciate your help!  If you are interested or just curious as to prices and want more information, please contact 913.667.2087 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
