Running the Paschal Mystery:Parish Mission

Annual Parish Mission

Running the Paschal Mystery

What if the Paschal Mystery isn't something that Jesus went through a couple thousand years ago, but something that we're all invited to live every day? Using the metaphor of a marathon, and his skill as a storyteller, Terry Nelson-Johnson challenges us to run our own Paschal Mystery, teaching us to look at life through the lenses of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter.

Join us Sunday through Tuesday, February 21--23
7:00--8:30 PM
in the church sanctuary

Dr. Terry Nelson-Johnson is Dean of Faith Formation at Old Saint Patrick's Church in Chicago, IL. He holds a master's degree from the Institute of Pastoral Studies, Loyola University, Chicago, and a Doctorate of Ministry from the University of St. Mary of the Lake. He and his wife Holly are the parents of two children, Ian and Clare.

Five Loaves- Weekly Scripture Reflection

February 14, 2016 – 1st Sunday of Lent - C
“You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.”
- Luke 4:13

All of us experience temptation. In the fullness of his human nature, Jesus was also tempted. He shows us how to respond through prayer and grace. Psalm 91 says it well: “Be with me, Lord, in times of trouble. Be with me, Lord, I pray.“ As we begin our Lenten journey, let’s refocus on our prayer practices – that we might avoid times of temptation and discover near occasions of grace!

About The Five Loaves: Like the scripture story reveals, we believe miracles still happen when people are willing to offer their simple gifts for the good of others. Please share this free weekly video reflection. Feel free to post, tweet, or forward a link to those who need to hear the Good News!
