Five Loaves- Weekly Scripture Reflection

Between Sundays™ is a scripture reflection for the week (anticipatory of the upcoming Sunday).
Each Monday there will be a new video to view on our Home Page, (previous weeks can be found under the "Playlist" tab). Please come back often to explore the Sunday Scriptures.

30th Sunday in Ordinary Time – Can We Love?
The Pharisees continue to test Jesus, looking for an opportunity to trap him. Jesus once again redirects the exchange and uses the moment to teach his disciples – and us. All the law and the prophets can be summed up in an essential command: can we love?  First, can we love God with our whole soul and mind? Second, can we love our neighbor as ourselves? Tom Booth’s engaging song, Can We Love, helps us consider our response.

About The Five Loaves:  Just like the scripture story, we believe miracles happen when people are willing to offer their simple gifts for the good of others.
Please share this free weekly video reflection. Feel free to post, tweet, or forward a link to those who need to hear the Good News!

Replace Our Roof brochure
Replace Our Roof pledge card

After much deliberation, our Facilities Council recommends that our 60,000 square foot flat roof be replaced sometime in the next year. The council determined that patching once again will increase the likelihood of leaks, not eliminate them.

Website Sponsorships Available!

  • In the weeks ahead, our parish representative from Solutio, Inc., will be setting up the advertising for our website for the year.
  • Please consider participating in this effort since the revenue from the ads is what makes the website possible at no cost to the parish.
  • It’s a great way to get your name in front of the families in the parish.  Advertisements may be purchased for a business, family memorial, or you can sponsor an ad supporting Catholic Charities, Knights of Columbus, Vocations, etc.
  • Please give these ideas some thought. We need and appreciate your help!  If you are interested or just curious as to prices and want more information, please contact 913.667.2087 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
