Five Loaves- Weekly Scripture Reflection

September 6, 2015 – 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B
"Then will the eyes of the blind be opened, the ears of the deaf be cleared;"
-- Isaiah 35:5

Jesus cures a man who is deaf and mute – opening his ears and restoring his speech. That man’s handicap was physical, but there are times when all of us become spiritually deaf to the needs of others – in our world, family, neighborhood, our best friends and spouses. Our deafness may not be intentional – we simply need to see with the eyes and mind of Christ. Let our prayer this week be Timothy R. Smith’s song of petition, “Give Me Ears to Listen.”

About The Five Loaves: Like the scripture story reveals, we believe miracles still happen when people are willing to offer their simple gifts for the good of others.
Please share this free weekly video reflection. Feel free to post, tweet, or forward a link to those who need to hear the Good News!
