Five Loaves- Weekly Scripture Reflection

February 7, 2016 – 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time
“When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed him.” - Luke 5:11

The invitation to discipleship happens when we least expect. For Simon Peter and his fishing companions, Jesus calls them after a night of failing to catch any fish. In the midst of their frustration, a miracle of abundance leads them to leave everything to follow the Lord. We may have already chosen the Christian life but Jesus now calls us to “go deeper.” Are we – like Peter - willing to leave our fear and self-doubt and go?

About The Five Loaves: Like the scripture story reveals, we believe miracles still happen when people are willing to offer their simple gifts for the good of others. Please share this free weekly video reflection. Feel free to post, tweet, or forward a link to those who need to hear the Good News!
