Dear Food Kitchen family,
Tuesday, May 18th, will be Good Shepherd’s day to serve at the Food Kitchen. The warmer weather has allowed patrons to come for sack lunches again. The numbers are back up to around 850, and so we will plan for this.
Our sack lunch menu remains the same: ham salad sandwiches along with some deli turkey sandwiches and some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The remainder of our lunch includes a slice of cheese, chips, fruit, and dessert, and a bottle of water.
Our dessert will be cookies, and homemade cookies are always a favorite. If you enjoy baking, consider making some to share.
It takes a lot of cookies to serve so many patrons! Let me know if you will bake cookies.
A few families have created notes of encouragement to include in the
lunches. They are so appreciated. Not necessary, but a fun family project to consider.

On Tuesday, May 18th, we will put final items in our sack lunches, pack the boxes of lunches into trucks, and finally, deliver them. We will gather at 7:15 a.m. Volunteers can park in the west parking lot, and enter through the side door of the cafeteria.

We will need 6 trucks to transport our lunches. We will load from the front of the church.

We are lucky to have you in our ministry,
