Sophia Ord is currently the music teacher for Good Shepherd Catholic School and is thrilled to be a part of the Good Shepherd Music Academy. She enjoys her role at Good Shepherd teaching general music to all students at the school, rehearsing classes for Wednesday morning mass, and teaching two bands and a choir in the mornings. Mrs. Ord’s teaching career also includes eight years of teaching private lessons for several instruments and assisting as a saxophone technician for the Blue Valley Southwest Emerald Regiment for two seasons. Mrs. Ord in her spare time performs in ensembles including the Moon City Big Band and Crossroads Wind Symphony, and has been honored to perform with the Marcus Lewis Big Band and the Kansas City Symphony. She earned her music education degree from the University of Kansas, performing in small ensembles such as jazz combo and saxophone quartet, large ensembles including performing the role of drum major for the KU Marching Jayhawks, KU Wind Ensemble, and KU Jazz Ensemble 1.
